According to police officials, the mother-daughter duo in Greater Noida, were murdered due a real life "crime game" being played by their 16-year-old son, who remains to be at large and is the prime suspect in the case.
Speaking to DNA, the father of the prime accused has revealed that the teenager who is suspected of killing his mother and sister was hooked to an online game called "High School Gangster" "as the game had different task like causing hurt or injuring someone.
"He used to spend hours playing this game. I had started seeing a change in his attitude from quite a long time and his grades were also going down. In September, I had to take away his cell phone and had severely reprimanded him," said Soumya Agarwal, the accused boy's father.
According to the police, the boy was hooked on to the game and could harm other people under the influence of the game. The content of the games are stated as 'extremely violent' as mentioned in the game information of the play store.
He further stated that if his son is found to have committed the murder also, he should not be held guilty as he thinks that he would have been influenced by a game which he had been playing for quite a while time now rather the police should arrest the game developer and not his son.
However, he alleged that the crime has been committed by some professionals and his 16-year-old son has been kidnapped. They said the family of six was a happy one and there were no problems.
"The murders were well executed as the accused has not left any clue. It seems that the mother and daughter were sleeping when they were murdered," Agarwal added.
