According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Neeraj Singhania (38) and his wife Ruchi Singhania (35), who had locked themselves in their bedroom after celebrating Holi and were found lying dead on the bathroom floor by their family members. The police suspect it to be a case of death due to suffocation, however, they are waiting for the autopsy reports to ascertain the exact cause.

"We all celebrated Holi and got returned home around 5 pm. Everyone went to their respective rooms to take rest. Around 7 pm, we went to wake them up but no one responded, But we did not disturb them. Later around 9 pm, we knocked the door again and when they did not respond to our repeated calls for dinner, we got worried," said Neeraj's father Prem Prakash Singhania.

Prem then asked his younger son to check on them from another room. "Around 9.30 pm, he peeked in through the bathroom window and saw a portion of Ruchi's feet lying motionless on the ground. We broke open the door and found the two of them lying naked and lifeless on the floor. I checked the geyser which was switched off, while the bucket was also empty. I immediately called the police," Prem said.

The police rushed the couple to Max Hospital in Vaishali where they were declared brought dead. According to a senior doctor of the hospital, the couple was brought to the hospital around 10:30 pm and were dead on arrival. Both the bodies did not have any external injuries mark.
