Cops nab three gang members in Greater Noida

Three out of the six criminals have received bullet injuries and are admitted in the district hospital

The Gautam Budh Police have arrested six criminals after a brief encounter from Kasna area of Greater Noida on Monday afternoon. Three out of the six criminals have received bullet injuries and are admitted in the district hospital.

According to police, they got information that a gang was going to execute a crime in the Greater Noida area.

" Following the information, we had laid a trap near Chuhadpur underpass in Kasna area. We spotted two bikes and one car coming towards us," said Suniti, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Gautam Buddha Nagar.

On spotting the police, the criminals opened fired at them. Around 30 bullets were fired.

"The encounter lasted for around 40 minutes after which we managed to overpower them and arrested all six of them," Suniti added.

The accused have been identified as Kuldeep Singh , Narendra Singh, Ravendra , Surjeet, Sunil and Jitendra. Kuldeep, Ravendra and Narendra received bullet injuries while a police officer also received bullet injuries during the cross fire.

"All the injured have been admitted to the district hospital," said a senior police officer.

The accused have been booked under sections 307(attempt to murder), 147 (Punishment for rioting), 148( Rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (. Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code and Central Government Act Section 25 in Arms Act 25.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they are part of a professional gang which were involved in interstate robberies, attempt to murder etc cases.
