The cops busted another gambling den in South Delhi's Vasant Kunj making it the second such raid in a week.

Gambling dens are thriving in South Delhi this Diwali. The rich and high profile seemed to have moved on from the traditional card parties and have come under radar of Delhi Police.

Delhi Police on Friday said that acting on a tip-off, a team raided and arrested eight people including four women. Nearly 3,000 gambling chips worth crores of rupees were seized. "During investigation, it was found that premises belong to Madhu Bala and she had given the premise on rent to one of the accused identifed as Gulshan Arora for three months. Accused was given 2.5 lacs rupees per month as rent," DCP south, Ishwar Singh said.

Meanwhile, All India Gaming Federation has written to GST Council requesting for special attention to the gaming industry. AIGF has demanded a standard or low rate to tax the gambling den transactions and to formulate special rules for valuation for certain peculiar transactions pertaining to the industry.

On Sunday, in a similar raid in south Delhi's Sainik Farms, thirtysix people including businessmen, table attendants and others were arrested from a farmhouse. Around 11 luxury vehicles and 23 bottles of foreign liquor were also seized by the police. The police have also asked the intelligence department to collect information about other gambling dens.
