The Delhi Traffic Police helped provide a green corridor (signal and traffic free passage) for a vehicle carrying a 'liver' to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) on Tuesday, thus saving a life.
AIIMS had asked the traffic police to make necessary arrangements for the transportation.
The liver, coming from Chandigarh, reached the IGI at 10:45 am, during peak traffic hour. Once the flight landed, and cleared the necessary security checks, it went on the road by 11:17 am, arriving the hospital by 11:40 am, just in time to save a life. It covered a distance of 18.5 kms was in 23.10 minutes.
