CISF seizes 400 liquor bottles from CGO complex, 2 held

Two men, who had been collecting illicit liquor at the CGO complex near Lodhi Road and had been selling it illegally, were arrested on Wednesday. 400 bottles of liquor were recovered from them that they had hidden within the complex.

The CGO complex houses the headquarters of many paramilitary forces and government offices.

According to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officers, who guard the complex, around 6 pm on Wednesday, on the basis of input received, a team carried-out a surprise check at a diesel generator set room of the Central Public Works Department in the complex.

"During the checking, the CISF team recovered 400 liquor bottles, concealed inside a cupboard. Two men, who were working there as operators under the contractor with Hitech Enterprise Company, were also apprehended. They were identified as Satender Kumar Singh from Baxar and Amit Kumar from Aligarh. During the investigation, they revealed that these liquor bottles were brought illegally in a piece-meal manner and were stored inside the generator room to sell these later to the employees working in CGO complex, and also to supply the same to others on demand," said Hemendra Singh, Assistant Inspector General and PRO, CISF.

"Both the apprehended persons along with the seized 400 liquor bottles were handed over to the Delhi Police. A case has been registered under the Delhi Excise Act-2009," he said.
