Police claimed that around 125 questions were asked and they were satisfied with Deputy CM's response
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was questioned by the Delhi Police on Friday for three hours regarding the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. The investigation was headed by Additional DCP Harendra Singh.
After the questioning, Singh stated that the proceedings were video recorded and continued for three hours. Police claimed that around 125 questions were asked regarding the sequence of events that took place on the night when Prakash was allegedly assaulted at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on February 19.
The police said that they were satisfied with Sisodia's response. Kejriwal was questioned on last Friday by the police team.
The Deputy CM was cooperative with the police team during the questioning, said sources.
Reacting to the questioning by the Delhi Police, Sisodia said that the environment was good during the investigation. "It is not the fault of the Delhi Police, they are under pressure to implicate us in false cases. I will be cooperative in the investigation in future as well," said the Deputy CM in a statement, adding that like other false cases, this will also be rejected in the court. The statement further said that after the coming to power, they have been fighting against different mafias and stopped corruption in Delhi.
Sisodia stated that the AAP government will continue its good work for the development of Delhi. He also hit out at the Centre and the Lieutenant Governor alleging that they have unleashed the Delhi Police and other agencies against the AAP and Delhi government to harass them by implicating them in false cases.
The alleged assault on Chief Secretary took place on February 19 during the meeting at the CM's residence. Kejriwal, his former advisor VK Jain and Sisodia were also present there.
The police have already questioned 11 AAP MLAs present at the chief minister's residence for the meeting.
Two of the party MLAs -- Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal -- were arrested in the case.
On February 23, a police team had examined the CCTV system installed at the chief minister's residence in the Civil Lines area and seized the hard disk. The forensic report on the hard disk is still awaited.
‘I WILL COOPERATE’
- Reacting to the questioning by the Delhi Police, Sisodia said that the environment was good during the investigation.
- “It is not the fault of the Delhi Police. I will be cooperative in the investigation in future as well,” said Deputy CM Sisodia.
