Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal rejected officials' reports questioning the feasibility of various 'mohalla clinics' after he inspected the proposed sites and declared them viable on Friday. He ordered the officials to re-inspect and prepare fresh reports.

Kejriwal, along with Health Minister Satyendar Jain, inspected sites for new mohalla clinics in West Delhi after officers rejected the feasibility of numerous areas. In their report, the officials have marked huge number of sites as non-feasible as there was "space constraint". However, the chief minister denied the findings after his visit.

"There is so much space here, where is the constraint? It seems there is something wrong with the inspection done, I have seen three sites today, all of them have space and the report submitted says there is no space," he said. The mohalla clinic project is being handled by the Delhi government's health department in coordination with the Public Works Department (PWD) and other land-owning agencies.

He further asked the officials to re-inspect the locations and make a fresh report on the "actual status". "It looks to me that most of the sites marked non-feasible are having space for mohalla clinics. Get them re-inspected, revisited immediately and get them approved. If there are still any 'non-feasible' site reports, I will again go for the inspection of such sites. This report seems to be totally wrong after all three non-feasible visited today have so much of space," Kejriwal said.

Last week, Kejriwal had taken series of steps to complete the long-pending projects in the Capital. The decisions were announced after the Supreme Court in its verdict on July 3 clipped the power of Lieutenant Governor restricting his jurisdiction to land, police and public order.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in its budget 2018-2019 had proposed to set-up 1,000 such clinics in the capital. The government in its outcome report had alleged that the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal delayed the establishment of 1,000 mohalla clinics by nine months.
