A 51-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing mobile phones while they were being shipped from Noida to Delhi. The police have recovered 682 mobile phones from him, which were stolen from various parts of Madhya Pradesh (MP).

"A case of theft was lodged on November 3 by one Durvesh Kumar, an owner of Shree Cargo Carriers. Kumar alleged that his company had sent a shipment from Noida to Delhi's Bamnoli by a truck around 12:30 am on November 1. The shipment contained 410 boxes of S mobile devices. However, 30 boxes, containing 60 mobiles, were missing when the truck reached Bamnoli," Devender Arya, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West, said.

With the help of technical surveillance, the investigation team traced the location of a stolen phone in Maihar area of Madhya Pradesh. The owner of the phone directed the police to the shop from where he had bought the phone. The team then unearthed the entire chain of dealers which were operational in different locations in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. 682 stolen mobile phones had been recovered from them.
