Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Cabinet ministers took to the streets of the national Capital to protest against Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal's decision to hold back the much-ambitious project of installing CCTV cameras in the city. Carrying a banner in their hands, Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia lead the protest march outside the L-G House at 6, Ludlow Castle Road. The march continued for three hours.

"L-G Sahab, BJP ke dabaav me, camera mat roko (Dear L-G sir, kindly don't obstruct the installation of cameras under BJP's influence)" said all the ministers and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters while marching towards the L-G House. The L-G, however, refused to meet the Ministers and called the march as 'Protest without reason'.

"Despite seeking time to meet the L-G on the issue of installation of CCTV cameras, the CM and his Council of Ministers along with MLAs and one Member of Parliament preferred to sit on dharna near Raj Niwas rather than meeting. The CM conveniently ignored the actual facts that his own Cabinet has not even considered the departmental proposal for CCTV cameras yet. It is only after the Cabinet approval that such proposals are sent to the L-G and in this case, no such approval has been accorded by the Council of Ministers and sent to the L-G for his consideration," a statement from L-G House stated.

The dharna began around 3:30 pm and ended at 6:40 pm with Kejriwal vowing to reach out to people to tell them that the "The BJP and the L-G are disrupting the installation of CCTV cameras in the city". While a protest was going on the roads, the AAP leaders and ministers were warring on the social media.

Kejriwal and Baijal got involved in the war of words with former questioning the purpose of setting up a committee on CCTV projects. "Why didn't u set up committee when MCD, NDMC, Metro, police set up 2 lac cameras last yr? Now when Del govt installing cameras, u set up a committee? People questioning ur motives. Obviously, BJP stalling it thro u. Sir, pl say "NO" to BJP's pressures for sake of Del's women (sic) Kejriwal tweeted.
