Despite limited resources and manpower, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will implement a new URL-based system, wherein, the examination centres will have to download and print question papers on their own. The system will be implemented in Monday's exam.

The new system of delivering question papers to examination centres was tested once, during a mock drill on Thursday.

According to an "extremely confidential" set of instructions sent by the board to the superintendents of all its examination centres across the country, they will receive an email link to question papers at 7:15 am. The schools can then login using the passwords sent to the superintendents and can print over 2,000 sheets of paper till 10:15 am in a very restricted room under CCTC surveillance.

Class X students have Sanskrit/Urdu-B paper/French paper and Class XII students have Hindi core paper on Monday.

To avoid glitches, the CBSE has instructed exam centres to arrange high-speed internet and, even, dongles as backup, besides hiring generators. Delhi has around 774 centres for class X and 733 for class XII exams.

However, several CBSE-affiliated government schools in Delhi wrote to the Board on Sunday, saying they don't have "enough resources" to implement the new system effectively.

"We have just one printer in our school, that too isn't fast enough to download 150 question papers quickly," said a principal at a government school in south Delhi. In its reply, the Board has asked the schools to hire resources such as printers or dongles to avoid any glitch. "Even if resources are hired, we don't have enough skilled staff members," the principal said.

Schools gathered their staff on Sunday for preparation. "It's going to be really challenging as we will have to separate the sheets into three sets, with each question paper about six to eight pages and then staple them on our own. Today we have sent the names of the staff members who will be present in the room on Monday," said another principal.

Meanwhile, the CBSE gathered its employees at its headquarters around 10am on Sunday and assigned duties across the country for Monday's examinations.
