Tauqueer, accused of leaking Economics paper, was a diligent student and studied in the same institute where he taught
In outer Delhi's Bawana, inside a small room of the house, the mother and wife of one of the accused arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly being involved in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X and Class XII paper leak, are in tearful. The locals and the owner of the institute where he taught Mathematics are aghast. They are yet to come to terms with the fact that their hard-working Tauqueer can be involved in such an act.
Family members and the locals came to know about Tauqueer's arrest through news channels on Sunday morning and since then the entire colony is in disbelief. His wife and mother have cornered themselves at different spots in the house and have been crying since the news came out.
"Tauqueer had gone to Uttarakhand with his friends around four days ago and on Sunday morning we got the news of his arrest. My husband is innocent and we can't believe that he can be involved in any such an act. You can ask anyone about his character and intentions, he was always helpful and never showed any signs of greed," said Shama, Tauqueer's wife.
Tauqueer got married five years ago and lives with his wife and mother in a small two-room house in the JJ colony of Bawana. He had been teaching since he was in the seventh standard as the family is financially poor. Tauqeer is the sole bread earner of the house. Tauqeer completed Class 12 in the Commerce stream from a government school in Bawana and then graduated from the Delhi University. He was working as a Mathematics tutor at a private institute in Bawana since 2016.
The entire lane where Tauqueer lives said they can't believe about his involvement in such an act. They stated that he is being used as a scapegoat.
"There are times when you forward a message on Whatsapp without even looking at it. Name any one person who has come out and said that Tauqueer forwarded the paper to them. He is just being used as an scapegoat," said Alum, Tauqeer's neighbor.
Another neighbor said that Tauqueer's father had passed away three-four years ago as the family could not get his treatment done because of their financial instability.
" Tauqueer holds a clean image in the colony. He has taught lots of children for free. He always told our children to be honest and said with education you can achieve everything in life," said Nazmi, a neighbour.
According to Vikas Tiwari, owner of the institute where Tauqueer taught Mathematics, said that he has seen Tauqueer grow as a student here way back in 2007. He was brilliant in studies and a very decent boy.
"He joined the institute in 2016. He was brilliant in the subject and wanted a job, so I hired him. I have never heard a single complaint from the students about his teaching skills. He was very dedicated to teaching. He was quite punctual as well. Rishab, another accused in the case was also a student here in 2008," said Tiwari.
Tiwari further stated that there are more people involved in this scam. He also doubted the involvement of Tauqeer and Rishabh in the case.
" Firstly, Tauqeer teaches Maths to the students of class 11 and 12. His involvement is found out to be in the Economics paper of class 12. Why would he leak that paper, if he had sources he would have leaked the Maths paper of the class 12 kids instead to improve the result for the institute. Rishabh is Physics teacher in a school, so if he could leak the paper he should have leaked the Physics one. Their involvement is suspicious and unbelievable. It was on Sunday morning when I came to know about this case. Even after the day of the exam, no student came up with any allegation against him," Tiwari said.
He might have forwarded the message without opening it as most of us do.
