The CBI in its raids on Sunday recovered the documents while probing a corruption case filed against the DDC Registrar Rishi Raj. The CBI, which is already probing a separate case of alleged corruption against the health minister, came across the controversial documents related to him while conducting raids at the premises of a doctor who is under the scanner in a corruption case. The searches were conducted at various premises of Rishi Raj after a case of corruption was registered against him. The CBI claimed to have found property documents, bank deposit slips of about Rs 2 crore and company documents belonging to Jain from Raj's residence.

The complainant Sanjay Arora, in the FIR, stated that he runs a dental clinic -- Swaran Dental -- in south Delhi and an adverse order was passed after a complaint was lodged against his clinic. To settle the matter, Rishi Raj demanded Rs 1.1 crore and told him the money will go to the minister.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant. Arora alleged, "I have been fighting a frivolous complaint by a patient namely Udit Aggarwal to extract money from me at the DDC for more than one-and-a-half years now.

He further alleged that Rs 10 lakh was demanded for the review order hearing by Raj. "He said the money will go to the minister. The said meeting happened on January 16, 2018, and Rs 1 crore was demanded for clearing me in the review order jointly by advocate N Pradeep Sharma and Dr Rishi Raj,"alleged Arora, adding that Raj promised to get the amount decreased.

Now, after recovering the controversial documents related to Jain, the CBI has decided to question the minister. The CBI laid its hands on three property documents. Besides, 41 cheque books in Jain's name, his wife's name and in the name of a private estate firm were also found.
