With major roads in the Capital remaining out of bounds and Metro services across Delhi and NCR being restricted, Monday is going to be a harrowing day for citizens.

The massive lockdown taken by Delhi Police as a pre-emptive measure for the Jat agitation, which is scheduled to start from March 20, will particularly affect Class 12 students and UPSC aspirants.

While the Central Board of Secondary Education has scheduled the Mathematics examination for Class 12 students on Monday, IAS hopefuls have to sit for interviews at different centres across the city. In order to prevent any harassment or inconvenience due to blocking of roads and closing down of Metro stations, CBSE also issued an advisory for parents on Saturday evening, urging them to plan their commuting way ahead.

Parents and students, however, are jittery about the entire development. Shreya Sinha, a Class 12 student, said, “I usually travel by Metro to my examination centre in central Delhi. I don’t know how will I go. I am scared, what if I miss the paper?”

Similar concerns were shared by Rohan Khurana, who has to sit for his IAS interview. He said, “I don’t belong to Delhi and will have to take help from someone to plan my travel. I cannot afford to miss the interview.”

According to a Delhi Police advisory, the following routes will be completely closed for general traffic from 8 pm on Sunday: Kamal Ataturk from Race Course Metro Station to R/A Panchsheel Marg/Niti Marg (Ashok Hotel R/A), Safdarjung Road from Aurbindo Chowk to R/A GKP, Kautilya Marg from Samrat R/A to Niti Marg, Kautilaya T-Point Near Bihar Bhawan, from Teen Murti to Gole Methi roundabout, and Zakir Hussain Road for commuters coming from Nizamuddin to India Gate.
