A four-year-old girl, who accidentally fell inside a big pan of boiling water, succumbed to her injuries on Monday, after being under observation for two days. The incident was reported from East Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area.
On Saturday morning, the victim identified as Aayat was playing at her house in the Krishna Nagar area. Her elder sister, aged 17, was making tea for everyone in the family.
Aayat was playing on the bed along with her brother. Her elder sibling poured tea for others in the family and slipped the boiler underneath the bed. As she was playing she rolled and fell inside the boiler. She fell inside the boiler on her head and her face. Her family members rushed her to a local hospital and they claimed that the doctors did not give her adequate treatment.
"The girl had sustained severe burn injuries on her face, head, chest and other parts of the body. She was later referred to Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) hospital where she was undergoing treatment. She breathed her last on Monday," said a senior police officer.
Since there is no foul play in the case nor the family members have alleged a conspiracy, no case has been registered. The body was handed over to the family members after the post mortem. Her last rites were carried out on Tuesday evening at a local cremation ground.
In February this year two three-year-old twins died, after falling inside a washing machine in Rohini. Their mother had filled up the machine in order in order to wash clothes and had stepped out of the house to buy some detergent powder. She returned home within five minutes but the damage was done. In January 2016, a six-year old boy died after falling in a septic tank inside a school. In 2014 a two-year old boy died after he fell inside a frying vessel. The incident occurred as an e-rickshaw driver hit his mother who was carrying him in his arms.
