Amid the exchange of bullets, when the Delhi Police commandos barged into the kidnappers' hideout in Sahibabad, they found Vivan hiding under a bed. The child, terrified and crying, was pulled out of the bed and then hiding him behind a cover fire from their associates, the cops managed to bring him out of the two-room flat.

Police officers said as they tried to calm him down, Vivan, identifying Ravi, who was lying unconscious and Pankaj, who had been shot in his leg, told the cops that there was another accused there. On this, he was told about Nitin, whom the police had earlier nabbed.

"It was only after we told him that all the three accused have been arrested, the child could be brought to senses. He is still in shock," said a senior police officer.

Sunny Gupta, the child's father also thanked media for not publishing the news of the kidnapping, which the police feared could have ruined the investigations and possibility of the arrest of the accused. On being asked if he had enmity with anyone and suspected role of an insider behind his child's abduction, Gupta said, "I have no idea about who could be behind it. I am thankful to the Delhi Police for bringing back my child safely. 11 days is a long period. We were terrified but had not left the hope of seeing my son again. We also thank the media displaying commendable cooperation with us and the police," he said.

Gupta also added that he had received videos from the kidnappers which showed the child saying:"I love you daddy" and requested to be saved.

"It is heart wrenching to see your child pleading but the police worked in a very professional manner. I salute these heroes. They are heroes of my family. My son is still in shock and we are planning a party and a family get together to bring him to normalcy. He will soon resume his schooling," the father said.
