Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Manoj Tiwari lashed out at the Delhi government for lack of night shelters in the city. He claimed that homeless people were left to spend the nights on roads in this biting cold as the government remained indifferent to their plight.

"The Delhi Government recently claimed that it has made arrangements for 200-night shelters with all the facilities. But when the media did a reality check, it was found that people were sleeping on the floors. In many night shelters, bathrooms were very filthy. The condition of the toilets was also very bad. These night shelters were found to be in bad conditions just like the Mohalla Clinics," Tiwari claimed.

"The total budget of the Kejriwal government for night shelters is Rs 80 lakh whereas the Chief Minister spends crores on its publicity. Last year, the BJP workers had helped the homeless people and distributed blankets, etc. This year also, I appealed to the BJP workers that they should not depend on Kejriwal because he is an insensitive person and one cannot expect sensitivity from him for the homeless people. They should make all the efforts to protect the homeless from the cold and by doing so prove the culture of BJP in helping the people," the BJP leader said.
