Unauthorised colonies in Delhi, delay in metro Phase-IV and growing traffic congestion in the capital were some of the key issues discussed today at a meeting attended by Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Lt Governor Anil Baijal among others, a senior official said.

Issues relating to land management by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), implementation of the Land Pooling Policy, and resource constraints of Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCDs) were also discussed in the one- and-a-half-hour long meeting held in Nirman Bhawan here, the official said.

The meeting was also attended by Delhi Lok Sabha members and mayors of the three MCDs.

Puri said the issues related to urban infrastructure in the national capital will be discussed with the Delhi MPs and mayors every month and today's meeting was part of the plan, the official said.

Noting that it was easier to address issues such as police, law and order and land, which were under his direct control, Baijal urged the MPs and mayors to pursue more rigorously issues relating to transferred subjects coming under the jurisdiction of Delhi government, according to the official.

Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra informed that the works for decongestion of traffic at Mahipalpur, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Kashmere Gate will be taken up very soon.

MPs called for examining if the same share of developed land could be given to land owners irrespective of the size of the land pooled under the Land Pooling Policy, the official said.

The policy proposes to give 60% of developed land back to owners if the pooled land is above 20 hectares and 48 per cent if it is between 2 and 20 hectares.
