A day after North MCD Mayor Preeti Aggarwal was caught on camera purportedly telling one of her aides "they could not comment on the licensing part of the Bawana factory, as it falls under the civic body's jurisdiction," she has trashed the video calling it "fake".

The video has evoked strong reactions with political parties getting into a war of words on Twitter, including top leaders like Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari.

The video, which was recorded on Saturday evening, went viral and was retweeted by Kejriwal on Sunday. However, Aggarwal could not be reached for a comment.

The three civic bodies in the Capital -- North, South and East --- are ruled by the BJP.

However, the mayor reacting to Kejriwal's tweet said, "Arvind Kejriwal by retweeting the video has resorted to dirty politics and he should apologise for that."

BJP's Tiwari also pitched in to support Aggarwal and called the video fake.

"What can be more disgusting than this when Chief Minister @ArvindKejriwal tweets a fake video. The license for this factory was being given by Delhi government and its Industries Department (sic)," he tweeted.
The Delhi's BJP unit also came out in support of their mayor and issued a statement challenging the AAP government to describe what wrong has she said.

"We challenge Kejriwal and his party to see the video and tell what wrong has she said? All that she has said that licence comes under MCD's jurisdiction and we will check and then speak on it. What is wrong with it?" it stated.
