Audi involved in killing four people in rickshaw, released

"According to the law, the car involved in the accident can be released after a deposit of a fine and security. So, the Audi has been released on the basis of the security deposit," said a court official.

The Audi which was involved killing four people in Ghaziabad when it rammed head on into an auto-rickshaw they were travelling in January this year, has been released by the court on Tuesday.

The court ordered the release of the Audi after the owner of the Audi deposited a security deposit of Rs 50 lakh.

"According to the law, the car involved in the accident can be released after a deposit of a fine and security. So, the Audi has been released on the basis of the security deposit," said a court official.

On 28 January, Audi rammed head on into an auto-rickshaw they were travelling in. The auto-rickshaw driver was among the dead in Wednesday night's accident that highlighted the menace of reckless driving, identified as one of the major killers on Indian roads annually.

The incident occurred after midnight at Indirapuram, on a narrow road that runs parallel to the Hindon canal.

The car belongs to Manish Rawat, a doctor at Safdarjung Hospital.
