Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is planning to write to the PM Narendra Modi' office in order to induct Sanjiv Chaturvedi into Delhi government, as per a news channels report.

According to sources, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was planning to appoint whistleblower Sanjiv Chaturvedi as Delhi's anti-corruption beaureau head. Chaturvedi, a former vigilance chief of AIIMS, was removed from his position at AIIMS by the central government recently.

It was alleged by AAP that Chaturvedi, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, had been victimized for investigating and exposing corruption in the AIIMS hospital which is run by central government.

Chaturvedi's appointment will emerge as AAP's first major anti-corruption move after the party attains power in Delhi on Saturday, February 14. The AAP won the Delhi elections winning 67 seats out of 70 in the assembly leaving a meagre number of three seats for the BJP.

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia who is likely to become the Deputy Chief Minister said, " Sanjiv Chaturvedi is a very honest officer and it will be great if he joins."

The party's primary agenda is to remove corruption from government institutions. The Health Ministry removed Sanjiv Chaturvedi as the AIIMS vigilance chief in August citing that he was not eligible for the post and the Chief Vigilance Commission had not cleared his appointment. Chaturvedi had reportedly initiated several investigations during his two years at the premier hospital.

Chaturvedi's investigations included various cases against officials who went on unexplained, illegal foreign trips on tax payers' money and one who allegedly had his pet dog operated upon at the AIIMS cancer centre.
