The revelations made by Kapil Mishra on Sunday have once again brought the focus back on Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who has been at the centre of many a controversies, ever since the party came to power.

Former Water Resources Minister Mishra has alleged that he saw Jain handing over Rs 2 crore to party Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The development has come as huge blow to AAP, which came to power on its anti-corruption plank.

Jain, who also heads the Public Works Department (PWD), has been under the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) scanner for money laundering. In March this year, Jain's name figured in suspected land deals. The Income Tax (I-T) Department then attached his assets, worth Rs 33 crore, under the Benami Act.

Earlier in January, Jain had come under fire for his alleged involvement in Hawala transfers worth around Rs 17 crore. The I-T department had initiated an inquiry in to the matter.

Even before that, last year, the AAP minister, said to be a close confidante of Kejriwal, was slammed for the appointment of his daughter, Saumya Jain, as the head of Mohalla Clinics. Questions were raised regarding her appointment, as she had an architecture background and did not have anything to do with the project.

Yet another allegation had surfaced that Jain gave the contract to hire 24 architects to a private detective agency.

Also, just ahead of the municipal polls last month, Lieutenant-Governor (LG) Anil Baijal had cancelled the allotment of the AAP office at 206, Rouse Avenue. The decision came after the Shunglu Committee raised questions about the allotment. The bungalow was approved by Jain on February 2, last year.

Mishra has also raised questions about Jain's involvement in the raising of funds for the Punjab Assembly polls. The ousted minister said there were funding-related issues, which Kejriwal had ignored.
