AAP leader Ashutosh resigned from the party on Wednesday, citing a “very very” personal reason, but party leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “How can we accept your resignation? Nah! Not in this lifetime.”
The formal journalist announced his decision on Twitter. Kejriwal also took to the micro-blogging site to decline the resignation.
“Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary has also an end. I have resigned from the party... requested Political Affairs Committee (PAC) to accept the same. It is purely from a very very personal reason. Thanks to party/all of them who supported me throughout,” Ashutosh said.
He had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha election from Chandni Chowk on an AAP ticket. According to the sources, Ashutosh may return to journalism with his own website.
Kejriwal also re-tweeted an image of him and Ashutosh hugging each other and captioned it, “Sir, We all love you very much”.
