6 held for duping 700 people

The East District Police has arrested six persons for duping 700 people to the tune of Rs 2 crore through fake loan companies. The accused ran fake companies in the name of Reliance Capital Finance, Manappuram Finance and Aditya Birla Finance.

Shushma from Mayur Vihar, alleged she approached the company for a loan of Rs 4 lakh. But when the accused kept on asking for money for loan approval, she went to the police.

"After securitising bank accounts, call records, social media profiles, CCTV footage, the accused were arrested in a raid in Rohini," said DCP (E) Omvir Singh.
