In a shocking incident, a 5-year-old girl has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by her classmate at a school in Dwarka. Police said that a case has been registered and the matter is being investigated.
According to the senior police officers, the matter came to light two days ago when the victim, told her parents that she was touched inappropriately by her classmate, following which the family approached the school administration. On this, the boy was identified by the girl and his parents were also called.
"Since the family of the girl has filed a complaint, an FIR was registered and the child was taken for medical examination. The matter is being probed and the girl child is being counselled. The allegations are being ascertained and the boy has not been apprehended yet," said a senior police officer.
This, however, is not the only such case reported from a school in the national Capital. In August this year, a nine-year-old boy, studying in a private school in Ghaziabad, died under suspicious circumstances, after he allegedly slipped and fell in a corridor on the second floor of the school building. Earlier, on July 7, a minor girl was raped in a private school cab in west Delhi by its driver, while another four-year-old was allegedly raped by her school van driver in outer Delhi's Baba Haridass Nagar.
In January, a class two student died mysteriously in her school in Noida after she fell unconscious while participating in a karate competition.
