35-year-old stabbed in Ghazipur

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar (35) a Peon in an RO office.

A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by an unidentified person in Ghazipur area of east Delhi on Saturday morning. Police have sent the body for postmortem and are investigating the case.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar (35) a Peon in an RO office. He was stabbed to death when he had gone to refill water in his office in the morning.

Manoj used to walk from his home to the RO office to fetch drinking water every day. However, when he did not return for hours on Saturday, his wife out to went to look for him. She was shocked to see her husband dead on the floor of his office. Police was informed about the incident and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

With Manoj's demise, there is no one left in the family to earn. "This incident has left us shocked. His brother went missing last month, and now Manoj is dead. His death has put us in a turmoil since he was the only earning member of the family," said Kanhaiya, Manoj's relative.

The family does not suspect anyone since they had no enmity with anyone. Police have registered the complaint and have commenced investigation.

"Manoj lived in a rental house, near the RO office with his wife and 3 children. The murderer might have stabbed him from behind when he was filling water bottles with water cooler filling water bottles. There were marks of knife cuts on his neck," said Pankaj Kumar Singh DCP East Delhi.
