3 sisters who sex-chatted for money nabbed

A gang of three sisters have been arrested for allegedly using another woman's photo for sex-chatting on illicit websites in Laxmi Nagar. The women who were aged between 26 to 32 had been living in the Laxmi Nagar area of east Delhi were arrested on Friday evening.

According to police, they had received a complaint from a lady at Rani Bagh police station, a week ago, in which she had stated that her Facebook photographs had been uploaded on illicit websites like KIK, Skout, Badoo, Bee Talk websites for sex chats on Whatsapp without her knowledge and consent.

"Following the complaint, we went on one of these illicit websites where we found the mobile numbers of these people on one of these websites along with this woman's photograph. While making a decoy call, we got hold of one of these women who demanded money for which the rate ranged from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000, depending on the service. Payment could be made through PayTM or online transfers to various bank accounts," said a senior police officer.

Following up on this, police managed to trace the accused through their bank account details. A team under the supervision of Raja Banthia, ACP, Saraswati Vihar, then conducted a raid in Laxmi Nagar area of Delhi where the three sisters were arrested.

"It was then revealed that this racket was run by not one but three ladies who happened to be real sisters. All of the accused were arrested from their residence where they are living on rent. All the three ladies are graduates, unmarried and aged 26-32. They belonged to a poor family in Faizabad UP and had been living in Delhi since the last eight years," the officer added.

Police stated that the accused had accumulated a lot of wealth as a result. "Till now it has been revealed that they received payments of around Rs 20,00,000 in bank accounts in 2017. Details from PayTM are still being investigated. In addition, 19 SIM cards, nine smart phones, one laptop and passbooks, cheque books and debit cards of around 13 bank accounts in different banks were recovered from their possession," the officer added.
