3 arrested for burglaries using government I-card in Cantonment area

Five cases of burglaries at senior Army officers' residences in cantonment area were solved with the recovery of several valuables.

Delhi Police's Crime Branch has arrested three men, including a suspended FGM (Fitter General Mechanic) of Military Engineering Services, who used to carry out the inspection of the residences of senior Army officials and facilitate easy entry of burglars in Cantonment area by letting them use his government I-card. Five cases of burglaries at senior Army officers' residences in cantonment area were solved with the recovery of several valuables.

The main accused was identified as 54-year-old Dharambir, a resident of Pul Prahladpur area, who is a suspended employee of Military Engineering Services and used to work as a Fitter General Mechanic. Several stolen LEDs, cameras, wrist watches, 15 silver vessels, government ID cards and i10 car used in the crime has been recovered from the trio, police said. The other two accused were identified as Deepak alias Prasanjeet and Dheeraj alias Pawan.

It was on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday that a team of Crime Branch successfully arrested the accused persons from Dwarka Sector 1 in a white colour i10 car, while they were going to dispose off the stolen articles, the officer said.
