Delhi shocker | 8-month-old sexually assaulted by 28-year-old cousin in Shakurpur Basti

In a shocking incident, an eight-month-old infant was sexually assaulted by her 28-year-old cousin in North West Delhi's Shakurpur Basti area on Monday. The incident took place on Sunday and according to the police sources, the baby suffered severe injuries to her vital organs and undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to police, the victim lives with her family on the first floor while other family members live on the ground floor. At the time of incident her parents were out for work. Police said, the accused, a cousin of the child, took her to other part of the building on pretext of playing with her. Later, when the child's mother who works as a maid in a nearby locality returned home and she found the child in pool of blood. She immediately rushed her to a hospital.

Police said, on returning home mother found the baby unconscious and bleeding from her private parts. The child's father works as a labourer. She was taken to Kalawati Saran Hospital, said a senior police official.

Police said, during interrogation, the accused was rounded up and questioned when he confessed the crime.
