A 25-year-old youth died after he was mowed down by a car driven by a minor in Outer Delhi's Prashant Vihar area. The incident took place on Tuesday and the victim succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered.

According to the police, the 16-year-old boy who studies in Class 12 at a private school took out his father's car for a drive. "The juvenile took out his father's Hyundai Santro car for a drive. When he reached near Rohini's Sector 11 red light, a 25-year-old man was crossing the road. Unable to control the speed of the car, he mowed him down," said a senior police officer.

As the minor boy could not control the speed of the car, he mowed the man down and latter rammed in a road divider. The injured victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injury on Wednesday. Locals caught hold of the driver from the location. The deceased has been identified as Manjeet alias Johny who worked as a cook at a local eatery.
