According to the police, a call was received at around 1:19 am regarding the death of a 22-year-old man. Police officials revealed that the call was received from AIIMS Trauma Centre saying that a man identified as Shivam was declared dead on arrival with stab wounds. During the investigation, it was revealed that the deceased was admitted at the hospital by his friend Bunty. Investigating officials stated that Bunty and Aslam were sitting in B Block Park late in the night and after drinking alcohol were going home.

When Bunty and Aslam were returning home, a local boy Azim came there and had an argument on some monetary issue with the victim. Police traced the accused on Saturday afternoon around 3 pm and took him into custody. "Yesterday night, both accused and deceased were under the influence of alcohol and in an alcohol fueled rage and in the heat of the moment, accused stabbed deceased," said Chinmoy Biswal, DCP, South-East.
