21-yr-old man held for raping 14-yr-old girl

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Chand (21), a labourer at a private company.

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Kakrala village, which comes under Phase-2 area of Noida. The police have arrested the accused and sent him to jail on Thursday.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Chand (21), a labourer at a private company. He was arrested after a case of rape was registered against him at Phase-2 police station.

According to the complaint given by the victim's parents, the incident took place on the evening of March 7 when the girl was alone at her home as her family had gone to attend a marriage function.

"The accused lives in her neighborhood. He forcefully entered her house and administered some poisonous substance to her. Later he fled away by threatening the girl of facing dire consequences if she tells anyone about the incident," said Shwetabh Pandey, Circle Officer-3, Noida.

"Following the complaint, the accused was arrested from his house and was booked under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced in front of the court and sent to jail," said Panday.
Chand is a native of Muzzafarpur district in Bihar while the girl studies in class 8 at a nearby school.
