Future of nearly 200 BCom (Programme) final year students at various Delhi University (DU) colleges is at stake after failing the internal practical examination. The results were announced on Thursday.

Students have alleged that even though they scored an aggregate of more than 60 per cent and performed well in the practical exams, they could not pass. They also said they had no information regarding the passing criteria and that even the college administration was giving them wrong information.

"The main problem is that we can't apply for re-evaluation as Computer Application in Business is a practical subject. Also, until we pass in all subjects, we won't get our degree, which will make it impossible to get admission in MA or a job," Taslim, a BCom (Pass) student from the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce said.

"We were told that we have to score an aggregate of 40 per cent to get through the year. My aggregate is 70 per cent and I performed well in practical exam but I still haven't cleared a paper. During the practical exam, an invigilator had passed a personal comment, to which I had objected. She had replied saying she will meet me next year," Namrata, a third year student at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, said.

The students also threatened to stage a protest."We will raise our voice against this. After all, our future is at stake," a DU student said.

The varsity officials, meanwhile, refused to comment on the issue, stating that they were looking into the matter.
