20-yr-old bride-to-be, mother, child die in car accident in Ghaziabad

The family was going to distribute cards for the wedding function. Police said two other relatives travelling in the car were injured in the accident.

In a tragic incident, a 20-year-old bride-to-be, her mother, and a 4-year-old child died after their over-speeding car that they were travelling in hit a tree and fell into a pit in Ghaziabad's Muradnagar area on Saturday. The family was going to distribute cards for the wedding function. Police said two other relatives travelling in the car were injured in the accident.

According to the police, the incident took place around 2 pm on Saturday when the car, in which the bride Rizwana, her mother Anjum and their relative child Junaira, were travelling, lost control and rammed into a tree on the roadside. Police said that the collision was such that the vehicle fell off the road and went into the deep pit.

"The vehicle was so badly damaged that it had to be cut apart to pull out the victims. All of them were rushed to a hospital where they were declared brought dead on arrival. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem and family members were informed," said a senior police officer.

According to a family member, the deceased were on their way to distribute invitations of the marriage to their relatives.

"All the happiness of the family has turned into mourning. All of us were really excited about her marriage as it was the first marriage in the house. All the family members are in shock. We are just praying that the other two survive," said Rizwan a relative.

Police said the two injured have been identified as Danish and Aas Mohammad, who are battling for their lives in a hospital. Rizwana was to get married on April 20, police said.
