17-year-old stabbed to death in south Delhi

A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by a youth following a scuffle in south Delhi's Sultanpur area, police said on Sunday. Akshay, a diploma course student, was attacked by Suraj, 21, with a sharp-edged weapon on Saturday evening around 6.30 pm, a police official said.

Akshay, along with his friends, was going on a motorcycle in Sultanpur market when Suraj, who was in a drunken state, came in front of his two-wheeler and started creating a ruckus," he said adding that a scuffle took place between Suraj and Akshay's friends. Suraj attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon and stabbed Akshay in the chest, the official said.

Akshay was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to Safdarjung hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.

"Suraj has been arrested," the police official said. According to the family members of the victim, Suraj had attacked Akshay with a scissor and one of his friend also got injuries in the incident.
They also claimed that Suraj was involved in criminal activities in the past.
