The body of a 16-year-old boy was found near his house in northwest Delhi's Mukundpur area on Sunday morning. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, however, the family members of the deceased claim that he has been killed.

The police got a call from a passerby who informed them that a boy was lying unconscious with injury marks on his body. A police team reached the spot and rushed him to a hospital in the vicinity, where he was declared brought dead on arrival, the police said.

The boy was identified as Shaukat Ali. His father said that he had called him up before leaving the house. He had told his father that he was going to meet a friend. He had left his house, saying that he would return in an hour, but when he did not return, his family members got a missing complaint lodged.

The father said that when he saw his son's body at the hospital, it had many injury marks and that makes him suspect that he was killed.

The police, however, said that prima facie it does not appear to be a case of murder. A senior police official said that they are investigating the case from all angles. They are interrogating family members and friends of the deceased to know who was the last to meet him before he died.
