1.5L registrations at Delhi University portal for undergraduate courses till Monday

As many as 1.5 lakh aspirants have registered at the Delhi University's (DU) portal for undergraduate admissions in 2018-19 till Monday evening, six days after the registration process begun.

According to an official data released by the University, a total of 14,8910 aspirants have registered at the DU online portal. Of which, 59262 are male and 50322 are female aspirants. "There are 59180 paid applications, out of which, 29538 are male, 29638 are female and 4 registered under the others category," the university's admission department said in a statement.

In 2018, the university has provided a single portal for applications for both merit-based and entrance-based admissions to undergraduate courses. Till 2017, the registration for entrance based admissions was separate.

The candidates will get time to complete their application forms till June 7. They can also edit the form till they make the payment. The fee will have to be paid online. Students under the reserved category have to scan and upload relevant documents while filling the form. Applicants applying under the sports quota will have to upload three recent certificates, after which a centralised fitness test and trial will be held. An additional fee will be charged for those applying under the sports quota as well as extracurricular activities quota.

There will be entrance tests for several undergraduate courses, including BA (Hons) in Humanities and Social Sciences, BTech in Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation, BA Elementary Education, BA in Physical Education, Multimedia and Mass Communication, Music and Fine Arts and the five-year integrated course in Journalism.
