India opener Rohit Sharma on Sunday pipped Australia batsman David Warner's 281 runs to become the second-highest run-scorer with 319 runs in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup. Rohit now sits just below Australia captain Aaron Finch's 343 runs in five matches.

The hitman entered his third match of the tournament and the biggest clash against Pakistan with 179 runs under his belt.

Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir has become the joint highest wicket-taker, having scalped 13 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 so far.

During India's post-match press conference, the Indian opener was asked to give some batting advice to the Pakistani side by a reporter and Rohit had a witty reply for everyone.

“Jab main Pakistan team ka coach banoonga tab jawab doonga [I will answer when I become Pakistan coach],” he said.

"It's just the space I'm in right now; having a newly born daughter in my life has put me in a really good space. I am enjoying my cricket coming off from a great IPL campaign. Here we were focussed on starting well and I think as a team we are heading in the right direction," he went on to add.

India inflicted a humiliating 89-run defeat on their arch-rivals in a much-hyped World Cup match, which eventually turned to be a lop-sided affair.

Chasing a stiff 337-run target, Pakistan were already down and out when rain stopped play after 35 overs. They had managed just 166 runs for loss of six wickets, nowhere near the DLS par-score of 252.

When play resumed, the match was reduced to 40 overs with a revised target of 302, which meant that Pakistan required 136 runs from five overs.
