What a bowling spell from Goswami!
Updated : Jul 23, 2017, 05:52 PM IST
On Sunday, the English cricket team were cruising along at 146/3 at the end of 31 overs at the final of women's world cup. Indian captain Mithali Raj brought back her strike bowler Jhulan Goswami to stem the flow of runs by taking quick wickets. And the champion bowler obliged at the greatest stage with superlative performance. She took three quick English wickets and left the host side reeling at 164/6.
Goswami first removed Taylor when she flicked it on the leg side to wicketkeeper Sushma Verma.
She followed it up by getting Wilson with a cracking yorker. And then in the thirty seventh over, she got dangerwoman Sciver by trapping her in front of the wicket. As Virender Sehwag put it, in his own inimitable style: "Jhulan ne Jhula daala. Wonderful fightback from India. #WWCFinal2017"

England won the toss and opted to bat against India in the final of the ICC Women's World Cup here today. "We would've batted first as well, but our seamers are back in form, they'll relish bowling upfront," Indian captain Mithali Raj said at the toss.
Both sides are unchanged.
