Women's World Cup: Injury scare for semi-final hero Harmanpreet Kaur on eve of final

The Indian women's cricket team may be in for some bad news on the eve of the finals of the Women's World Cup against England at Lords on Sunday. Star batter Harmanpreet Kaur, whose unbeaten 171 ensured India of a place in the finals, hurt her shoulder during practice on Saturday.

Kaur, whose heroics in the semifinal against Australia ensured that India comfortable beat the six-time World Cup winners.

All we can hope for now is a miracle to ensure Kaur is 100%. Although those present overheard her saying she was fine, she looked to be quite uncomfortable. 

India play England at Lords in what is their second appearance in a World Cup final.

Looking at 2017, India seems to have set up a rematch against the English side. It was only on June 24 that the visitors upset the hosts by 35 runs in the tournament opener. Completing an entire circle, here they are once again, face-to-face for the final showdown.

"It definitely isn't going to be easy for England. But it will come down to how we perform on that day. We really have to work on our planning and strategy because England have also peaked after being defeated by us in the first game, Indian captain Mithali Raj said, soon after their victory on Thursday.

It has indeed been a long and entertaining journey there at England for Mithali Raj and her team. And whether may be the result of the blockbuster Sunday finale, viewership is definitely going to increase each time they set foot on the 22 yards of space.
