Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya underwent successful surgery to treat a lower back issue which had got him ruled out of cricket.
Hardik shared the news with his fans on Instagram as he wrote, "Surgery done successfully. Extremely grateful to everyone for your wishes will be back in no time! Till then miss me".
Hardik last played the T20I series against South Africa but he was not picked for the ongoing Test series.
He is also said to miss the T20Is against Bangladesh.
Hardik first sustained the injury during the Asia Cup in UAE last September. He recovered and even played in the IPL and the World Cup, however, the injury resurfaced.
After premier speedster Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik is the second key member in the Indian team.
Bumrah too suffered a stress fracture on his lower back and is expected to travel to the United Kingdom to assess his injury.
