Hit-wicket is probably the worst way to get out in cricket.
However, Australian batsman Jake Weatherald's dismissal during a practice match can be counted as one of the most unlucky dismissals in cricket.
Weatherald was out hit-wicket during the match between NPS and Victoria in bizarre fashion.
Weatherald was trying to drive the ball but edged it back to his pads. However, Weatherald lost the grip on his bat during the follow-through of the shot. The bat slipped out of his hand and flew above his head to land on top of his leg stump.
Weatherald's reaction to the dismissal was priceless.
In a video uploaded by Cricket Australia's official Twitter handle, Weatherald could be seen standing in disbelief after the comical dismissal.

However, this not the only time such a dismissal has took place at this venue. Replying to the tweet, the official handle of NSW Cricket Club also uploaded a video of another batsman who was dismissed in the same manner.
