India takes on Bangladesh in a much-awaited matchup between the two sides.

Virat Kohli won the toss on Tuesday and decided to bat first in Birmingham.

India posted 314 for 9 in their 50 overs against Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in their penultimate game of group stage on Tuesday.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave India a good start. Rohit Sharma scored his fourth century in the ongoing World Cup and also surpassed David Warner to become the leading run-getter in the tournament.

Rohit, who was dropped by Tamim Iqbal early in his innings, went on to make 104 off 92 balls including seven fours and five sixes. He was dismissed in the 30th over with India at 180. KL Rahul (77) soon followed him back. India then lost Virat Kohli (26) and Hardik Pandya (0) within three balls. Rishabh Pant went after the bowling and scored 48 runs off 41 balls. Dinesh Karthik's world cup debut lasted just 9 balls as he departed for 8.

MS Dhoni (35 off 33 balls) played some big shots before getting out in the final over. India lost three wickets in the 50th over as they reached 314 for 9.

In response, the Bengal Tigers had a slow start after which Tamim Iqbal’s got dismissed. Shakib Al Hasan and Soumya Sarkar came in and settled things down quickly for Bangladesh.

In the 12th over during India's 314 defend, Indian skipper Virat Kohli reviewed an LBW against Soumya Sarkar after the umpire gave him not out. The 3rd umpire then failed to find enough evidence where the ball struck the bat first, resulting in India losing their review.

Kohli was really unhappy with the decision of the umpire upstairs and argued about it with the on-field umpire and showed his disbelieve in the decision.

But about four overs later, when Soumya Sarkar did lose his wicket, Virat was the first man to remind the Bangladesh opener that this time there’s no turning back. Kohli himself took the catch to a slower delivery from Hardik Pandya which caught Soumya by surprise.
