India were 371 for 4 at the end of Day 1 after winning the Toss and batting first. After losing two quick wickets in the first session, Murali Vijay and skipper Virat Kohli frustrated the Lankan bowlers a lot. Murali Vijay went on to score his 11th Test century while the Indian captain got another in the third session. Sri Lanka came back in the match with the wickets of Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane in the last hour of the day.
