The duo of James Anderson and Alastair Cook holds a great significance in the history of England cricket, especially in the longest format.

While Cook is the highest run-scorer for England in Tests with 26,000-plus runs, Anderson has 561 Test wickets to his name.

Although Anderson made his Test debut three years in prior to Cook’s Test debut, the two have featured together in 130 Tests for England. To bring in perspective, out of Cook’s 161 Tests so far, 131 out of those also featured Anderson.

Now that Cook has called it quits and the ongoing fifth Test against India is his final appearance for England, England Cricket is doing everything possible to make these final days in the dressing room special for him.

They have been sharing several moments from the past with a hashtag of #ThankYouChef.

The recent video was a prank done with Cook with the help of none other than Anderson.

In the video, Anderson is first seen wishing Cook for a great career before he pretended as if he wasn’t aware that the camera was still on and he went on to reveal something crucial.

“Congratulations mate. It’s been a right laugh. Well done, pal. That’ll do,” Anderson said and turned away from the camera.

Now cheekily, he added, “Don’t like the bloke anyway. How he bangs about farming this, farming that. It’s lambing season. Who cares, mate? Bore off. He should’ve retired two years ago…”

“…oops!”

The video was obviously in good humour and for sure Cook would have laughed watching it and maybe, threatened to drop catches off Anderson’s bowling in the upcoming innings too. (Just kidding).
