Eighteen-year-old Sundar, an off-spinning all-rounder who impressed immensely in the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL), is one of the youngest players ever to represent the Indian cricket team.

Sundar was presented his India cap by none other than head coach Ravi Shastri before the start of the second ODI on Wednesday.

Here's that moment

Chinaman bowler Yadav was dropped from the team despite not bowling a single over in the first ODI, which India lost by seven wickets. One reason why Sundar could have been roped in is the number of left-handed batsmen Lanka have in their ranks. With his off-spinners, the Tamil Nadu lad is expected to trouble the likes of Upul Tharanga and Niroshan Dickwella.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl in the second ODI on Wednesday.

Here are the playing XIs of both the teams

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Sri Lanka: Thisara Perera (c), Upul Tharanga, Danushka Gunathilaka, Lahiru Thirimanne, Angelo Mathews, Asela Gunaratne, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Sachith Pathirana, Suranga Lakmal, Akila Dananjaya, Nuwan Pradeep.
