India emerged victorious after chasing down a tricky target of 226 runs in 2012 at Townsville. Unmukt Chand, the Indian skipper, led from the front scoring a wonderful hundred.

Australia batted first and lost the top-order. They were reduced to 38/4, but captain William Bosisto and Travis Head put on 65 runs for the fifth wicket to put the innings back on track.

Ashton Turner then stitched a 93-run stand with the captain helping Australia reach 225/8. For India, Sandeep Sharma took 4/54 in his 10 overs.

In reply, India lost Prashant Chopra for a duck. However, Unmukt Chand and Baba Aparajith put together 74 runs for the second wicket. Chand remained unbeaten at 111 while wicket-keeper batsman Smit Patel chipped in with 62 runs as India chased down the target losing just 4 wickets.

Here is how it happened:

India had earlier won the trophy in 2000 and 2008 under Mohammad Kaif and Virat Kohli respectively.
