Indian blowers put in an impressive performance to restrict Australia on 216, making it an achievable target for their side, in the ICC Under-19 World Cup final being played in Mount Maunganui on Saturday.

All-rounder Jonathan Merlo emerged as the highest scorer for Australia with his magnificent 76-run innings after the Indian blowers ripped through their top-order.

Here's how the Australian wickets fell:

Indian Right-arm pacer Ishan Porel drew the first blood when he dismissed Max Bryant on 14.

It was Porel again who gave India their second wicket in the form of Jack Edwards.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who has already taken seven wickets in the tournament so far, sent back Australia skipper Jason Sangha on 13.

Merlo and Param Uppal then provided stability to the side as the two stitched a 75-run partnership.

Anukul Roy, the leading wicket-taker for India, then broke the partnership after dismissing Uppal on 34.

Nathan McSweeney struck 23, before getting caught by Shiva Singh's on his own bowling.

However, the momentum shifted hugely into India's favour when Shiva (2/36) set up McSweeney to have the batsman caught and bowled, leaving Australia at 183 for five.

He soon sent back Will Sutherland also.

Roy then gave India the much needed wicket of Merlo in the 45th over.

Nagarkoti then fired in a full ball at over 140ks to clean up Zak Evans.

A superb throw from deep square leg from Shiva Singh has caught Baxter Holt short of his crease.

Mavi then got his first wicket in the form of Ryan Hadley.
