WATCH | Fire On Ice: Virender Sehwag smashes first half-century of ice cricket

Virender Sehwag v/s Shoaib Akthar- it was a perfect start for the St Moritz Ice Cricket in the the backdrop of breathtaking Alpine range.

Akthar bowled it short outside off and Sehwag put it over point for a boundary- just like old times.

Virender Sehwag turned back the clock with a half-century for the Diamonds XI against the Shahid Afridi-led Royals XI at the inaugural St Moritz Ice Cricket Challenge on Thursday.

Sehwag hit five sixes as he scored 62 off 31 balls. He even Sehwag took to Twitter to brag about his knock.

Sehwag's quickfire half-century and Andrew Symonds' 40 led Diamonds' XI to 164 for nine from 20 overs. Shahid Afridi's Royals team won the match with nearly five overs to spare with former England batsman Owais Shah hitting five sixes in his innings of 74. Here is the highlights of Sehwag's innings:

An artificial turf carpet was used for the match, with players using traditional cricket gear and a pink ball, but wearing normal sports shoes rather than spikes.
