India's ongoing tour of England has been in the news for a while now. Having faced a drubbing the last time they were there, the Indian team have a lot to prove this time around.

While Virat Kohli's men have gotten off to a great start on the tour - an eight-wicket win in the first T20I on Tuesday - they were close to landing on English shores without one of their start batsman.

In a recent interview, Dinesh Karthik revealed how Rohit Sharma almost missed Team India's flight to the United Kingdom (UK). Speaking on the show Breakfast With Champions, DK reflected on an interesting anecdote.

The Indian cricket team assembled in Delhi a couple of weeks ago to depart for the UK, and Karthik revealed how Rohit forgot his passport at home in Mumbai and made his way to Delhi. Rohit requested Karthik to not share this story, but the latter didn't hold back.

"We all assembled in Delhi and were supposed to leave for UK. Our man (Rohit) came chilled, having forgotten his passport back in Mumbai. It got delivered to him just in time, else he would've been left behind," said Karthik.

The keeper-batsman, however, was quick to 'empathise' with Rohit and said that he, too, was very forgetful. "That's one of the things I want to change about myself. Supposed you're talking to me, I'll just get lost and that sometimes comes across as rude. A lot of times I switch on my phone to do something, but by the time it opens I forget what I wanted to do," says Karthik.

Rohit joined DK's conversation with host Gaurav Kapur later, and said: "Everyone forgets their passport but these guys just make stories about me."

Karthik also spoke about his friendship with Rohit, calling the opener 'a great guy'. "We've had some great times together. We tend to give each other the choicest abuses, making people around us wonder what's wrong. But Rohit's a great guy and I love hanging out with him."
